Today Aaron Kobe Mendenhall was baptized! We're so proud of him, he's such a good boy. These precious moments are some of the things I will miss for the next 18 months, but I can do hard things. Tomorrow, oh, I guess it's today, I'm teaching a Relief Society lesson on missionary work, I'm sharing the story that Taunia shared in her blog a few weeks ago about the 2 young brothers that are leaving for missions, leaving their 3 siblings to take care of themselves. Teaching is not my favorite thing to do, I get so nervous, but I can do hard things.
We have 5 weeks left before we enter the MTC, I have suitcases half packed, lists of things still left to do laying in almost every room of our house, camping trips planned, Wicked Tickets, Grandma's 80th birthday, a family reunion to squeeze in there somewhere, making room for Caleb and Cami to move their little family upstairs, I could go on and on but I know that I can do hard things.
I know I can do hard things, we've raised six great kids who all have their own great kids, I turned 60 this year that was a pretty hard thing, I retired from being a secretary for the last 21 years, that was a hard thing leaving a lot of really good friends and working for 21 years.
I'm grateful for the hard things in my life, they have made me a better wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. How would I have ever gotten to this point in my life, if I had never had hard things to overcome? Look at me now, in a little over a month Kent and I will be in Nepal , a third world country, serving our Heavenly Father and our brothers and sisters , being examples of the gospel so that one day missionaries will be allowed into the country to share the good news of Christ. Yes, with the help of our Savior, Jesus Christ, I can do hard things.
